Every organization in the world possesses large quantities of information, knowledge, and expertise in relation to their profession. In order to use this knowledge in the best possible way, there is a need for an organizational-wide system that can collect, manage, and share it efficiently. A strong knowledge management program increases productivity, product and service quality, and deliverable consistency by capitalizing on existing intellectual and knowledge-based assets.
Often times, organizations jump headfirst into a knowledge management solution without first considering the objectives they wish to fulfill or understanding their own unique situations. Successfully implementing a knowledge management solution requires a great deal of preparation, patience, and a willingness to learn. In this webinar, we will study two distinct stories of how knowledge management cultures were implemented in both the Texas Department of Transportation and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Through these stories we will learn about two successful implementations of knowledge management in their respective agencies, and the key lessons that can be shared from both.
